Common questions
What are scholarship points?
They’re tuition-reward points that go directly toward college tuition — think of them like airline miles, but instead of flights they pay for school. Each point is worth a full $1 in tuition value (dollar-for-dollar, not fractional credit-card-style points), redeemable at 400+ participating colleges and universities. They’re administered through SAGE Scholars’ Tuition Rewards. To be clear, they’re tuition-reward points, not cash, and can’t be withdrawn as cash.
How do I earn them?
You don’t have to do anything extra. Every active Ombee Mobile line automatically earns 500 scholarship points every month — up to 6,000 points a year — just for staying connected. Your points don’t expire while your line is active.
Do points expire or roll over?
Your points don’t expire while your line stays active, and they keep accumulating month after month — up to 6,000 a year. When it’s time to redeem, your tuition reward is capped at one full year’s tuition at your chosen college, spread evenly over four years (up to about 25% of tuition each year). Each participating school decides how many points it applies, so the exact benefit varies by school.
What if I’m not a student?
No problem — you can transfer your points to a family member: a child, grandchild, sibling, niece, or nephew. Use Transfer Points in your Ombee Club account to assign them to someone who attends a participating school.
How do I redeem or transfer my points?
Log in and open Ombee Club Rewards → Scholarship Rewards. There you can see your points and choose Redeem, view Details, browse View Universities, or Transfer Points to a family member. Redemptions are completed through our tuition-rewards partner, SAGE Scholars.

How do I unlock the reward?
Buy and activate an Ombee Mobile SIM. The Mortgage Reward appears in your Ombee Club account the moment your line is active — no separate sign-up needed.
Can I use it on a refinance?
Yes. The reward applies to new home purchases and to refinances of the home you already own — including cash-out refinances.
When does it expire?
It doesn’t expire as long as your Ombee Mobile line stays active. Use it today, or hold it for when the right moment comes along.
Are there fees from Ombee?
No fees from Ombee. The credit covers 1% of your loan amount; any closing costs beyond that, and standard lender terms, still apply on the loan itself.
What if I need help understanding the paperwork?
That’s exactly what your lending specialist is there for. Bring all your questions — there’s no clock, and no question is too small.
Does Ombee provide the mortgage?
No. Ombee isn’t a lender. We’ve partnered with a trusted mortgage lending partner who handles the loan from qualification through closing. Your Ombee Club benefit is a credit of 1% of your loan amount toward your closing costs, if you qualify.
